Welcome back to…

🪦 COFFIN CONFESSIONS 🪦

Where we shine a spooky spotlight on one of our real-life Weasels.

Mandy Spooks has always been a Halloween girl…

Not just a fan of the holiday, but of the whole lifestyle. And while friends and family humored her oddball obsessions, she always felt like something was missing.

It wasn’t until she broke three bones in her ankle in 2019, confined to her apartment and deeply isolated, that her transformation came calling. “I was really lonely and depressed,” she told us. “One day, I was scrolling Instagram and came across Miss VonFrankenstein’s account (yep, the smokeshow behind Weasel Wear), and my world changed.”

That single scroll sparked a chain reaction: a new Halloween-themed, self-care routine (accompanied by a community of like-minded babes), the launch of The Ghoul Mates Podcast, and eventually, a full rebrand to Mandy Spooks. That online presence + creative platform has grown ever since, and now includes gorgeous content, a social network, and soon… her very first horror short!!

Mandy’s mission? To empower other women who’ve felt “too much” or “too weird” to take up space in all their haunted glory.

She knows the feeling of being misunderstood… of loving monsters (and feeling like one)… of hiding parts of yourself because the world isn’t ready.

That’s why her alter ego, the Ghoulster, is a little stitched, a little scary, and exceptionally soft-hearted. “I named my community the Ghoulster Squad because the term ‘ghoul’ is spooky and inclusive. Just like monsters, my community is full of misunderstood ghouls.”

What a pleasure it has been to have Mandy along for our entire ride, too—from small-but-mighty personal brand to bigger, alt-fashion business!! When Mandy first tried on her Drastik Fishnet Dress from Weasel Wear, she told us it felt like it was made just for her. “It complemented all my favorite features, and hid the ones I don’t like up front and center.”

But the real heart of Mandy’s story lies in her journey of care—for herself, her creativity, her husband, and her two rescue pups. Lolo, her tiny Chi/Min-Pin with big Wednesday Addams energy, was a dream. Bruce, on the other hand, taught her what it really means to show up with patience and compassion.

“He was misdiagnosed for six months, had medical issues, and came with a ton of anxiety. It was so hard, but he’s taught me so much about unconditional love. I wish I had slowed down and loved him more during that stage.”

Today, Mandy is working on her first original horror short “Bad Boy,” which she describes as a gory, empowering film made for women who love horror.

She’s come a long way from that lonely, second-floor apartment in 2019. But one thing hasn’t changed: she still wakes up every day thinking about how to show up for the weirdos in her Ghoulster Squad.

“I have transformed my life over and over again, despite the fears of what others might think, or the fear of failure.”

Cheers to Mandy!! Proof that monsters don’t just live under beds; they rise from the ashes in mesh dresses, outrageous onesies, and sparkly space buns. Follow her chilling adventures over on Instagram @mandyspooks. We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next…
