Some dresses leave your closet but refuse to leave your brain. The Last Dance Gown is my high-quality resurrection of one of my favorite, long-lost dresses from my 20s, which I wore on an anniversary date to the Sky Room in Long Beach (where Anthony and I held our wedding reception).
The original silhouette had me in a chokehold, but the quality absolutely did not, so eventually I let it go. Years later, I finally rebuilt the version I wish I’d owned all along, using beautiful stretch fabrics and adding one of my forever-favorite details: a hood.
A slinky stretch jersey base falls from a plunging V neckline into a long, flowing skirt. Sheer stretch mesh creates the dramatic flutter sleeves and matching hood. Romantic, a little mysterious, and ridiculously easy to wear, this one feels like giving an old friend the commemoration she deserves.
